The American Cities Climate Challenge respects your right to privacy, and we are committed to maintaining your confidence and trust. We do not sell or rent any information you provide to us. The following privacy policy shares the ways in which we collect and use your information.

The American Cities Climate Challenge does not collect any information from you without your knowledge and permission, and we do not ask that you enter any personal information to access or use most areas of cityrenewables.org. However, in order to use some of the tools and functions on our website, such as submitting online donations, we ask that you enter some basic identifying information. The American Cities Climate Challenge does not disclose this information to anyone except as needed to manage our website and database with the help of service providers, who are subject to a nondisclosure agreement. Information you provide The American Cities Climate Challenge is stored in a secure location and is accessible only by designated staff.

Updating Your Information

You can update the information you have shared with us by emailing, calling, or even the old-fashioned way of sending us a letter (please include your address and phone number in written communications). Just let us know what has changed and we’ll keep it up to date. You can also ask at any time for a copy of or to delete all of the information that we have collected from you by emailing cityrenewablesaccelerator@rmi.org.

Communications from The American Cities Climate Challenge

If you have opted to receive any of our publications by email, you are able at any time to unsubscribe by clicking a link that appears in the email itself. This system is automated and will update your preferences immediately. You may also contact us directly and we can update your preferences for you.

Donor Privacy

At The American Cities Climate Challenge, we respect the privacy of our donors and we aim to honor and protect your rights with this privacy policy. It applies to all information received by The American Cities Climate Challenge, both online and offline, whether through electronic, written, or oral communications.

The American Cities Climate Challenge will not sell, rent, trade, or share our donors’ names or personal information with any other entity, nor send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations.

To the extent any donations are processed through a third-party service provider, our donors’ information will only be used for purposes necessary to process the donation.

Cookies

The American Cities Climate Challenge uses cookies to uniquely identify visitors to our website. Cookies do not contain any personally identifying information, but may be linked to information that you give us voluntarily. We use cookies to track website usage, how users navigate, and identify ways to improve usability and our online presence. Blocking cookies

  • in Google Chrome you can adjust your cookie permissions by clicking “Options”, “Under the hood”, Content Settings in the “Privacy” section. Click on the Cookies tab in the Content Settings.
  • in Safari you can block cookies by clicking “Preferences”, selecting the “Privacy” tab and “Block cookies”.

Deleting cookie

You can also delete cookies already stored on your computer:

  • in Internet Explorer, you must manually delete cookie files;
  • in Firefox, you can delete cookies by, first ensuring that cookies are to be deleted when you “clear private data” (this setting can be changed by clicking “Tools”, “Options” and “Settings” in the “Private Data” box) and then clicking “Clear private data” in the “Tools” menu.
  • in Google Chrome you can adjust your cookie permissions by clicking “Options”, “Under the hood”, Content Settings in the “Privacy” section. Click on the Cookies tab in the Content Settings.
  • in Safari you can delete cookies by clicking “Preferences”, selecting the “Privacy” tab and “Remove All Website Data”.
