Local Government Renewables Action Tracker - American Cities Climate Challenge

The Local Government Renewables Action Tracker is an interactive web tool that presents renewable energy transactions and engagement efforts completed by U.S. cities, counties, community choice aggregations, and tribal governments since 2015. The tool shows and supports how local governments across the United States have used their buying power and collective voice to accelerate the country’s shift to renewable energy. The Renewables Action Tracker consists of two components: a transaction tracker and an engagement tracker.

Transaction Tracker

This interactive map tracks renewable energy transactions executed by U.S. local governments since 2015 and the total generation capacity of those transactions.

Engagement Tracker

This interactive map highlights select examples of efforts by local governments to advance their renewable energy goals by working with local utilities, regulators, and legislators.

The Renewables Action Tracker is a living resource that is regularly updated as local governments sign more renewable energy deals and take action to advance their renewable energy options.
