Criteria air pollutants are often co-pollutants at greenhouse gas emitting sources, including industrial sources and freight transportation hubs. These facilities often have a disproportionate impact on environmental justice communities. Optimal use of this funding would include repairing facilities damaged by natural disasters with a focus on upgrading the resiliency of facilities to reduce future risk to structure and people. Ensuring that repairs and replacements are weatherized and efficient will reduce risks in the future during extreme weather.
