Purpose
To fund research, development, demonstration, and deployment (RDD&D) projects that advance affordable hydrogen production, transport, storage, and utilization to enable decarbonization and revenue opportunities across multiple sectors.
Applicant and/or Project Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include Institutions of Higher Education, Non-profits, States, Local Governments, and Tribes. The projects should fall under one of the following topics: (1) Components for Hydrogen Fueling of Medium- and Heavy-Duty Vehicles, (2) Standardized Hydrogen Refueling Station of the Future, (3) Hydrogen Fuel-Cell Powered Port Equipment, (4) Enabling Permitting and Safety for Hydrogen Deployment, (5) Equitable Hydrogen Technology Community Engagement.
Decarbonization Considerations
Projects must advance technologies that will facilitate the use of clean hydrogen will support the goal of net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050.
Equity Considerations
The FOA encourages the participation of underserved communities and underrepresented groups.
