Purpose

To strengthen and modernize America’s power grid against wildfires, extreme weather, and other natural disasters that are exacerbated by the climate crisis.

Applicant and/or Project Eligibility Requirements

Available as formula funding for states, territories, and Tribes based on various factors including population size, land area, probability and severity of disruptive events, and a locality’s historical expenditures on mitigation efforts.

Decarbonization Considerations

These grants will help modernize the electric grid to reduce the impacts of climate-driven extreme weather and natural disasters while also ensuring the reliability of the power sector.

Equity Considerations

Many past awardees are using the funding for equitable workforce development and resiliency in disadvantaged communities.
